Autumn Show Saturday 5th September 2015

Autumn Show Saturday 5th September 2015

We had very few Junior entries but there was a good number of splendid flower arrangements. The homecraft entries were very well supported with mouth watering fruit muffins and apple pies, but the Mary Kent Challenge Cup for best homecraft exhibit went to Sarah Smith for her baked cheesecake.  The few dahlia entries looked stunning but no roses were entered, probably due to the weather.  During the afternoon there were many visitors enjoying the general presentation of the Show, drinking tea and eating the wonderful array of homemade cakes.  The raffle tickets for the fruit raffle and the beautiful half standard rose were sold out! Overall the Show was very successful thanks to the good support from all our Members.

Open Gardens 2015

Open Gardens 2015

On Sunday 19th July 2015, a lovely sunny day, five gardens in Bidborough were opened for our Members to enjoy. About 128 people wandered round admiring all the different landscapes and everyone ended up at Sarah Smith’s garden for a cream tea. Those of you who visited, can you guess in which garden each photo was taken?
