Coronavirus – There is good news that the vaccination rollout is progressing well and the Committee are hopeful that the BGA will be able to resume its “normal” programme later in the year. In the meantime keep an eye on this website and Glenys’s e-mails to keep up to date with what is going on and what is being cancelled. The following outlines the highlights:

Spring Show – The show sadly couldn’t proceed as a normal show, but once again it was held as as a photographic competition.  The entries have been judged and the results are shown on the Flower Show pages. Hopefully we will be able the run the Summer Show as normal.

Cornwall Garden Holiday –  This trip will now take place next year from 25 to 29 May 2022. We will be staying in a hotel in Falmouth and we will visiting 7 gardens over the 5 day trip. Monthly Programme Update –  The next presentation by Christine Bartlett on the subject is Beginner Orchids – Care and Cultivation will be held on Friday 21st May over Zoom.

Accessing the Zoom software is very simple and you can access this via most laptops, computers or ipads. If you would like to participate you should contact Glenys MacDonald ( ) .

Members Evening Outing to Alderwood Garden at Penshurst on Friday 18th June, 6-8pm £10 per head to include wine, soft drink and nibbles, proceeds to NGS.  Please register your interest with Carole Marks by email

Summer Outing Sunday 1 August – We have arranged a trip to  RHS Wisley.  Fingers crossed by then all of us will have received vaccinations and will feel able to relax and have a day out!  The cost is £30 per head.  The coach will leave the Village Hall at 9.15 and Birchwood Avenue at 9.30.  Returning from Wisley at around 4.30.  Please contact Glenys by email ( ) to add your name to the list. Payment will be at a later date.
