Falconhust

Falconhust

On the evening of Friday 16 June 2017, the Bidborough Gardening Association arranged a visit to the delightful garden of Falconhurst at Markbeech, opened exclusively for us in aid of the NGS. This is a 4 acre garden with fabulous views, designed and cared for by the same family for 160 years. It comprises of deep mixed borders with old roses, peonies, shrubs and a wide variety of herbaceous and annual plants; ruin garden; walled garden; interesting mature trees and shrubs; kitchen garden; wildflower meadows with woodland and pond walks.

It was a lovely warm evening and everyone enjoyed exploring the garden and a glass of wine, soft drinks and nibbles.

The Grange

The Grange

On the evening of Wednesday 22nd June the the Mills family kindly opened their garden for the Bidborough Gardening Association.  It was a grey evening with a glimmer of sun but that didn’t stop the enjoyment of us wandering round their wonderful garden with a glass of wine in hand!

The Walled Garden Hawkhurst

The Walled Garden Hawkhurst

On a wet blowy evening in June 2015, a group of our Members visited the Walled Garden in Hawkhurst where they were met by the owners, Monty & Emma Davies who own this family run business.  An interesting evening was spent discussing the renovations of the glasshouses & a tour of the nursery.
